Our Vestry

The Vestry is a group of twelve lay persons in our parish family elected to be servant leaders along with the clergy. Each vestry person oversees a particular parish ministry as well as the budget for that ministry. Vestry members serve three year terms. The terms are staggered so that each year four members retire and four new ones begin. Election of new members takes place each January at our annual parish meeting.
The Vestry is organized into three commissions, with each commission comprising several ministry teams. These are:
Logistics Commission: Provides the resources to carry out the ministries of the parish. This includes Administration, Communications and Publicity, Properties (maintenance and landscaping), and the Building Committee.
In-Reach Commission: Oversees the ministries to and for our own parish family. This includes the Children and Youth ministries, Fun and Fellowship, Pastoral Care, and the Connections Team.
Outreach Commission: Oversees the ministries related to worship and loving our neighbors. This includes Missions and Evangelism, Worship Resources, Music Ministry, Altar Guild, and Sunday Servants.
The Rector chairs the monthly vestry meetings. The Senior Warden is appointed by the rector, chairs the meetings and leads the parish family when the rector is away. The Junior Warden is elected by the vestry from its membership, chairs meetings in the absence of both the rector and Senior Warden and oversees the Properties Team. The Treasurer is also appointed by the rector and oversees the financial dealings of the parish. The treasurer attends meetings but is not a member of the vestry. The Clerk of the Vestry records minutes of the meetings and handles correspondence. The clerk is not a member of the vestry.
